Vocalizations near Scenic interrupt a camper’s quiet evening
On August 24 at dusk the witness was preparing dinner at a forest-edge campsite when a very loud ascending swooping cry came from the hillside above, followed by several higher shrieks. The witness felt watched during dinner and again when returning to the same spot two nights later, though nothing further was heard. An investigator later visited the area and reported a possible large footprint on the hillside.

Shortly after getting out of the car they heard a loud scream and strange yell-like sound from ahead, followed by something moving through brush. Large footprints were reported on Feb. 6, 2005 in Red Lake, Minnesota, found along a swamp, near an elementary school, and around homes. The prints were described as about 17 inches long and 6 inches wide with a long stride, with over a hundred found. Woman-like screams were reported from the swamp area while dogs were barking around 2 a.m.

Late at night the witness was on the deck and repeatedly heard a loud growling-screaming sound moving from a field across the road to a field behind the house, but saw nothing in the moonlight. The next evening the witness and a companion searched with a spotlight and reported finding large bipedal footprints with a long stride. The witness was outside a remote cottage watching a total lunar eclipse late at night when two extremely loud scream-like howls were heard at very close range. The sound was described as starting as a wolf-like howl and shifting to an immense roar, with apparent rapid movement from about 100 yards away to about 25 yards within seconds. No animal was seen, and the volume suggested a large animal to the witness.

From the campsite area the witness heard two loud howl-like vocalizations coming from across the lake about a mile away. The witness ran toward the lakeshore while listening but saw nothing. Late at night a resident went onto the porch after the outside dog became highly agitated and heard continuous loud shrieking screams, which the spouse also heard. The next morning footprints were found in deep snow leading across a field toward the forest with long strides, and a second set was reported to join the first in the woods. Photographs of the tracks were said to have been taken.

Two companions shoveling snow noticed barefoot-like prints and followed them into the woods. They watched two large greyish furry figures, one pounding and shaking a thin tree and the other digging in snow, while noticing a foul odor. The creatures vocalized and ran off when they noticed the witnesses, who briefly tried to follow before giving up.

The source was not seen because it was dark and about 15 yards away at the far edge of the trees.

The primary witness heard noises again overnight, and the next morning the group found large footprints, hair and a bedding area before the primary witness briefly saw a tall hair-covered upright creature that looked at him and ran away.

The next morning the family found large barefoot-like tracks in snow leading from the driveway around the house and over a fence, which they followed for about half a mile and photographed beside a size 14 shoe.
