Four adults spent the day trap shooting at a dead-end road near a washed-out bridge. During a lunch break they noticed a tall dark stump-like shape about 25-30 yards into the forest and watched it remain motionless for 30-45 minutes. When they later looked again the shape was gone, leaving no matching stump. They concluded the object may have been a sasquatch calmly observing them despite hours of shotgun noise.

The witness got out to check and reported seeing a black-faced, ape-like animal with sandy-brown hair peering from brush about 25 feet away. After a few seconds it stood fully upright and ran bipedally into the pines, and the pair later heard bipedal running approaching the car before leaving.

A group of seven hikers were hiking on a mountain trail in the afternoon. They heard cackling, yelping, growling and moaning sounds and found the trail blocked by a large uprooted stump with placed boulders and smashed trees. Two upright figures, one black and one light brown and hairy, were seen moving parallel to the group and leaping down a cliff, while the group felt stalked and watched as they hurried out to the road.

The witness's husband and another adult were sitting with boys camping in the woods on a moonlit night when the husband noticed a figure moving between trees, with moonlight visible between its legs. The group left the woods, and the next day the witness found footprints and poured a mold of one, plus other ground and vegetation signs. The investigator later reported the couple described a seven-foot-tall, wide-shouldered creature with a cone-shaped head and no neck.

They ran to the crossing point and reported hearing it continue running through the woods, flushing birds, and the primary witness smelled a strong musky odor. They found no tracks but noted a clump of freshly uprooted trees nearby.

Two companions hiking a trail to pick berries rounded a corner and saw a tall dark furry figure about 40-50 yards ahead moving away through palmettos, with only the upper body visible. While hunting deer alone in the morning, the witness heard repeated sounds like logs or poles being thrown, then found a tree with bark removed, a large packed bed, a human-like track, and unfamiliar scat. After glimpsing brown fur duck behind a log, the witness heard an extremely loud low roar-like yell from behind with crashing, then heard crashing and throwing sounds staying out of sight while leaving for about 200 yards. No full animal was clearly seen.

The witness was helping clear land on a forested property when they left companions during a lunch break to explore a ravine and entered a cave containing a large nest of fabric and vegetation. After exiting the cave and moving a short distance away, they heard a huff and saw the head and upper body of a hair-covered creature watching from rocks above the cave. The witness fled uphill to rejoin the companions.

After hearing tree breaks, movement, strange noises and heavy footsteps, the witness saw a large red bipedal animal walk along the road. When the witness spoke on the radio the animal screamed and ran away, and two large footprints were later found in silt.

After midnight the witness and a relative were awakened by barking dogs and noticed a rank odor in the house. When the witness went to get water he saw a large hairy head staring in through the kitchen window for about 30 seconds. He retreated to load a rifle while both heard a loud howling from the yard, but the figure was gone when he went outside with lights on.

Two companions on a hiking and camping trip followed grunting and rock-crashing sounds along a remote game trail. Through dense woods they saw bulky upright figures, first taken for a standing bear but judged to be something unfamiliar with a large upper body and no visible neck. When they returned to the spot the figures were gone, leaving stacked large rocks, broken branches and a powerful dung-like smell, after which they left the area.

The witness and a companion were sitting in a parked car at night near a creek when wildlife sounds stopped and bipedal footsteps approached. The witness attempted to drive away and briefly saw a broad-shouldered brownish-black animal moving on two legs into the creek. The pair left to get help and later returned with others.

A family living in a rural wood-frame home reported repeated nighttime visits over several years by two large hair-covered bipeds, one larger and one smaller. The creatures were said to peer in windows, mimic an infant's sounds, produce a strong septic odor, throw heavy tanks, damage a vehicle, and leave hair on the house. Livestock on surrounding farms were found dead with intestines removed. After the father fired through a wall at one creature, only the smaller one was reportedly seen, and activity lessened after relatives guarded the house and a protective ritual was performed.

In 1978 the witness walked about a mile into the woods to a pin-oak flat and saw a gray, gorilla-like figure lying under a pine across the flat. He used trees for cover to stalk from about 100 yards to 50-75 yards, but it disappeared without him seeing it leave. He later found mashed grass and a strong animal odor at the spot and noted a complete absence of other wildlife.
