The witness and a relative were camping in a remote wooded area when the witness was awakened around 3 a.m. by noises around the truck, including an ice chest being knocked over and a violent impact that rocked the vehicle, followed by a loud piercing scream-like sound. The relative also woke, and in the morning they found the camp in disarray with a dozen eggs missing, the empty carton later found away from camp, and a dent in the truck. No creature was seen and no tracks were found, and the pair stayed up until morning before leaving.

Late one spring night in 1979, the witness and a sibling were in bed in a downstairs bedroom when they saw a tall hairy figure looking in the window and then at the back door apparently trying to get inside. Deputies searched the surrounding woods but reportedly found only a burned area of ground from apparent vomit and a small knocked-down tree.

The witness got out with a flashlight thinking friends were pranking him and came face to face with a huge wolf-headed creature that growled. He scrambled back into the car and fled, later finding a dent, and both occupants remained frightened for months.

After dark, two riders on horseback were traveling on a back trail from the fairgrounds toward a friend's house. One horse alerted to something ahead, and the riders observed a very large, silent, human-like silhouette that moved diagonally into the brush. One rider greeted it, initially thinking it was a person, and they continued to the house without discussing it until morning. The next day they returned and found flattened dry grass where it had stood.

The witness was walking on dirt roads in the early morning and crouched in a cornfield to avoid oncoming vehicle headlights. While crouched, the witness smelled a bad mildew-like odor and then saw a large hairy figure standing motionless at the mountain edge about 30 to 40 feet away. The two stared at each other before the witness ran to the road, hit a barbed-wire fence, and fled.

A group gathered on a front porch at night heard noises near an old chicken coop and saw two pairs of yellow eyes that appeared to be two feline-like animals in the headlights. A large hairy biped then stepped in front of the animals and lurched toward a car, prompting the group to flee inside and call deputies. The biped later stood outside a lit kitchen window for several minutes while occupants held firearms but did not shoot, then left before deputies arrived, leaving a strong odor.

A family living in a rural wood-frame home reported repeated nighttime visits over several years by two large hair-covered bipeds, one larger and one smaller. Livestock on surrounding farms were found dead with intestines removed. After the father fired through a wall at one creature, only the smaller one was reportedly seen, and activity lessened after relatives guarded the house and a protective ritual was performed.

The witness reports finding dozens of large five-toed footprints in wet, packed sand. Most were roughly boot-length but wider and over an inch deep, with a second deformed variant and a larger unclear print leading toward a cliff. The witness and a companion photographed the prints and the witness planned to cast them.

The witness saw a stocky fur-covered biped rise from a crouch near the treeline about 30 yards away and stride rapidly into the pine forest with its head tilted to the left. The father, facing the opposite way, only heard loud crashing exit sounds, and both later heard distant hunting dogs barking in an unusually agitated way.

While checking trot-lines at night from a rowboat, the witness and a companion had to carry the boat across a shallow gravel bed. They heard sharp cracking sounds and then something rushing toward them from the bank, breaking trees. In moonlight they saw a tall dark hairy figure with orange eyes and long arms approaching quickly, prompting them to flee by boat to camp and then leave the area by vehicle.

The witness and two companions were on horseback to put up horses at night near a town dump and fairgrounds. They observed a black standing figure but could not see a face despite fairly good visibility from stars and lights. The next day they returned and found dry grass flattened where the figure had stood. The witness noted bears frequent the area but judged this was not a bear.
Camper sees ape-like animal in daylight
The witness was camping with a relative near Quakertown, Pennsylvania and went for a daytime walk alone near a dried creek bed. Across the bed the witness saw a large light-brown hair-covered ape-like creature in a crouched position that moved quietly into bushes and out of view. The witness ran back to camp and returned with a relative, who noted a deep depression at the spot but no further sign of the animal.

The witness was staying with relatives in a secluded hollow and watching television late at night when a pony in a nearby corral became agitated. The witness and a cousin went outside and saw a very tall, broad creature moving away from the corral, stepping over a fence and fleeing across a road and creek up a hillside, seeing only its back. The next morning they found only a dirt slide where it had climbed, and learned a relative's chained dog nearby had disappeared that night.

The witness and a companion were alone at the witness's parents' house at night when they saw a head looking in through the front door. They retreated to a bedroom without curtains where they heard breathing and scratching and saw a hairy hand against the window screen. The companion fired two shots that missed, and the figure ran away. A sheriff who responded found bullet holes but no blood or footprints.
A young man and friends had two consecutive night encounters with an unknown creature
In February 1977 five youths camped in two VW buses at a remote, densely forested campground in the Trinity Alps. On two consecutive nights around 10:30 p.m., something rushed down the steep hill behind camp and violently rocked the bus the witness slept in. The first morning packs were found strewn and torn open; the second night a large boulder was found wedged behind the bus tire and the other bus had shifted about five feet toward the river. The group reported seeing nothing because windows were iced over, noting only hillside skid marks, rushing noises, and a brief strong odor before leaving early.

The witness family discovered their very heavy cable-spool picnic table missing from their yard. Along a path bordered by cornfield and forest they found places where the spool had been rolled and carried, along with very large human-like footprints. They later found the spool about a mile away where it had been tossed into a steep gully, and felt children were unlikely to have moved it over rugged terrain.

Three children walking on a wooded footpath noticed a tall female-like figure with a smaller juvenile standing by a tree off to the side. The larger figure stared at them, gave off a dead-animal smell, stepped toward them, growled and bared its teeth after being pointed out. The group fled toward a residence while hearing branches breaking, prolonged howling and screaming, and trees being beaten.
Daytime sighting between Pocahontas and Imboden
The witness was in the yard when the dog barked at something on the ridge road about 200 yards away. The witness saw a bipedal creature stop, come downhill toward the yard, and break through an electric fence before looking around and walking quickly away over the hill. Later the witness returned with a parent to search but found no footprints because the ground was very dry.

A tall silhouette about 75 feet away rose above the corn and stared at the witness for about 30 seconds before the witness ran inside and locked the doors. The next day the witness found scuff marks, a path through the corn, and stalks with missing corn but no clear prints.
