Bowhunter witnesses woodknocking behavior outside the town of Burns
The witness was bow-hunting elk and reported hearing knocks timed to his steps near a clearing in the afternoon. He then watched through binoculars as a large hair-covered figure struck a log against a dead tree. As he left, knocks continued and he heard a log thrown nearby, later noticing a rancid black puddle on the trail.
Family finds and hears compelling evidence near Leadville
A family hiking around a high-elevation lake above treeline near Leadville found footprint-like depressions in moss between glacial rocks and found additional depressions on further search. They also noted moss torn from boulders, chewed, and left in neat piles, and heard grouped rapping sounds on each of three visits over three days. They recorded the tracks and moss on video and made a cast of one track. No animal was seen.

While guiding two clients and accompanied by his wife on an elk hunt, the witness reported hearing a low guttural vocalization that he did not recognize as elk or bear. After moving to an aspen grove, the group heard loud repeated knocking sounds likened to logs or sticks hitting trees. The next day after snowfall, the witness returned and found a fresh cow elk carcass with its chest torn open and large indistinct tracks with a long stride nearby.
Large creature leaves 12"+ handprints on camper trailer during rainy night
The witness and three companions camped over multiple rainy nights. They heard persistent huffing and a growl, experienced silence and a sense of being watched, and reported a dark shape blocking a camper window. When leaving they later found muddy primate-like handprints high on the camper and a trailer lock twisted and broken.
