They returned to the spot and found a very large dog-like animal lying across both lanes that lifted its head, growled deeply, stood up on two legs to eye level, stared, then dropped to a crouch and left toward a fenced ditch. A small wet mouse then stood between the two men cleaning itself and showed no fear when nudged, after which both left for home.

The witness returned about ten days later and found scuff marks on the bank.

The uphill observers reported a huge 8-foot-plus figure about 25 feet away leaning side to side to look through the trees and moving its arms. The episode lasted about 30 minutes, followed later by a distant scream, and a next-day search found disturbed soil but no footprints.
