The witness reported repeated unexplained sounds and smells over several years while living on a large wooded and pasture property. He described loud yells or screams at dusk, growls and bird-like chirps after midnight, occasional heavy stomping, and recurring foul odors. He also found a knotted strap with ribbon on a stump and noted grass mounds and stacked limbs in the woods. He never saw an animal directly and only later considered a Bigfoot explanation after discussion with a relative.

Two brothers camped overnight beside a lake in the park. During the night and again after dawn they repeatedly heard a loud aggressive exhale-like sound nearby, along with footsteps and branches breaking as something moved through the forest, followed by scream-like sounds that turned into chatter. In daylight they found a matted vegetation bed, a fresh flattened trail, and footprints in mud where the sounds had come from. The entity itself was never seen.
BFRO Investigators detail activity around Twain Harte
Investigators found fresh broken trees, dozens of footprints and two nests where a trail crossed a road and staked out the spot. No creature was seen, but something large moving on two feet approached the stakeout before fleeing downhill through brush when a car passed. The sign was documented the next day with footprint and tree-break measurements and a body-length impression in one nest.

A solo hunter hiked about six miles up a creek to the base of a mountain and noticed the woods had gone completely still and silent. He pushed through brush into a hard-packed oblong clearing strewn with hundreds of animal bones and found a camouflaged jacket still wrapped around human skeletal remains with the face crushed inward. He reported the find to local authorities with a business card found in a pocket and says he gave up deep-woods hunting and sold his rifles.

Three people hunting in the early morning reached a frost-covered hilltop clearing. They found a shredded shrub with branches piled like bedding, numerous freshly dug holes, and a stump holding freshly picked plants, all without frost. They inferred something had been there just before them and left as they approached.

The witness's family discovered a long trail of large footprints on their hunting property on a winter weekend in 1991. They followed the trail for over a mile past creeks and cabins and through a barbed-wire fence, making plaster casts of a right and left print. The witness recalls numerous puzzling occurrences from 30-40 years ago on a family farm of about 100 acres with orchards and woods. These included trees reportedly moved to block trails, an elaborate woven arch structure, large human-like footprints with long strides, rocks and a branch thrown near the witness, loud clicking exchanges, and nighttime disturbances around the barn and house. No creature was reportedly seen clearly, and the interpretation as possible Sasquatch activity developed over later years.
Possible nest nest and food remains found by retired soldier near the Sandy River
In mid-summer 1970 the witness was driving along the Sandy River looking for a place to target shoot when he found saplings snapped off with the tops formed into a large bedding area. Nearby were several freshly gutted rabbits, a death-like smell, and unusually silent woods. He left to find a ranger station and returned with a ranger who photographed the site, after which both described themselves as becoming believers.

Over about two and a half years the guest visited a stump in woods near South Hill and left apples, sandwiches and objects. She found a decapitated bird placed on the trail, a rock on the stump, balanced rock stacks, and a small fence-like stick structure. She interpreted them as possible gifts in return.

The guest says he and his brother found a neat pile of bones and a cave like shelter built from bulldozed driftwood at a field edge while hunting arrowheads. They walked inside a short distance. When they returned with their father the next morning the structure was gone.

Two hunters entered an isolated canyon noted for murders and saw a large hairy biped moving upright. After it turned to show a human-like face, they shot it. They then found a dug cave containing human bones and animal remains.

A couple months after the backyard sighting the guest walked alone in daylight and found tall Johnson grass pressed flat as if something had lain there, with one spot suggesting two bodies or two uses. He interpreted it as bedding for the same animal.

In the early morning the homeowner heard loud inhaling, exhaling and stomping from the tree line behind the house while dogs reacted fearfully. After a family trip, other members heard howls and the family later saw large dark figures moving fast on the ridge and trail with trees swaying. The family found large footprints, snapped trees, log structures and arches in the woods.
