The group shouted, reeled in their lines, and fled through trees and a field to their car. They returned the next day and judged the water depth and boulders inconsistent with a person.

The witness returned with a relative the next day and reported the trees were nine to ten feet tall, with the head just above that level.

When the witness was 11, a very tall hair-covered creature stood outside the house window for a few minutes late at night before walking around the side of the house. The next day the witness and a sibling found large footprints around the house and estimated the creature's height from the window measurement. Rain later washed the prints away after they were followed into the woods.

Late at night the witness was driving a small pickup with a companion to get car parts before a store closed. Coming around a curve on a dirt road near an old strip-mine area, the headlights illuminated a large red-haired standing figure on the roadside. The driver braked and started to reverse, but after the companion urged him to keep going, he drove on without further observation.
