The witness and family stopped while driving to hike and explore around Brownie Creek. While hiking along the sandy banks, the witness nearly stepped into a very large footprint estimated at 17 inches or more. Family members also saw the print, photos were taken, and the group then continued up the mountain.

The witness reported finding weeks-old tracks in deep snow on a logging road area described as undisturbed by humans for months. The trackway reportedly continued for about 800 yards with large footprints and a long step in about five feet of packed snow. The witness and four companions were pausing in a hay field during a target-practice outing when the witness spotted a large dark figure rising from a blackberry patch. The figure walked across a trail, paused by a fir tree and looked toward the group, then continued into an adjacent field. The group went to the spot, found flattened brush and a bent-grass trail, estimated the figure's height against the tree, took photos, and then heard knocking beats and hooting sounds after birds flushed and dogs barked in the distance.

On the morning of January 22, 2012, the witness looked out at melting snow in the backyard and noticed an unusual straight-line series of marks distinct from ATV tracks and family footprints. The marks ran directly from tree to tree and then toward the property line, with no clear origin behind the property. The witness photographed the trackway and measured consistent long intervals between steps.

The witness claims a family group has visited a rural wooded property regularly for nearly two years, typically evenings to early mornings several times a week. Reported activity includes footprints, wood knocks, odors, vocalizations, trail and structure formation, and direct sightings with food exchange and close interactions. An investigator visited the densely brushed property, observed extensive trails and shelter-like spots, and interviewed the household about four to five individuals of different sizes.
Hikers find large barefoot prints on the Elwha River Trail
The witness and a companion were hiking out after a multi-day camping trip when they found a large barefoot-like print in mud, with additional fainter tracks continuing along the trail, and took a single cellphone photo. That night while sheltering in a trail cabin with a poncho rigged over an open window, the covering was pulled open and a securing board was knocked onto a camper despite no observed wind. The witness noted the nighttime disturbance could have been a bear, but also noted a food-strewn garbage bag was left untouched.

The witness was camping on owned property along the river [name withheld] the dogs stayed agitated overnight. The next morning a line of prints was found in mud by the river that appeared to come out of the water and go back in downstream. The witness photographed the prints and made a plaster cast, reporting them at about 13 by 4 inches.

Four people driving logging roads found large footprints in about a foot of snow beside the road. After photographing an initial line of about six prints, they found a longer line of more than thirty prints on a landing. They concluded the prints were not human because of the large size, five toes, and long stride that the witness could not recreate.
Campers find a large track
Two companions camping near Index walked down an overgrown disused road to photograph the river. Along the way they noticed small trees broken off high above the ground, then found a single very large right footprint in a soft spot in the road. The print was much larger than the companion's size 10.5 to 11 foot, no other prints showed in the firm soil, and they photographed it for scale.

While elk hunting on a ridge, the witness found large tracks in patches of snow and photographed them. Shortly after taking the photos, a rock was thrown from about 150 meters away and dislodged other rocks downslope. He glassed the direction with binoculars, saw only an indentation in the rocks, then left the mountain quickly feeling uneasy.
Several sets of tracks found near Skookum Meadows
The witness spent the early morning driving back roads around Skookum Meadows to revisit prior sites and scout for future investigation. While traveling, the witness found a buttock-like skid mark with possible handprints and three large bare-foot-like impressions, plus additional large human-shaped tracks near a broken natural bee hive and behind roadside fir trees. The witness photographed the findings and made a cast of one track.

The witness and companions walking a road on the property noticed unusually large human-like footprints in dry powdery soil. The prints were described as deep with a longer-than-human stride and were photographed and followed a short distance to a viewpoint before leaving the road. Weather at the time was very dry.

In early morning fresh snow, the witness was walking a paved trail and found large barefoot tracks with a smaller set alongside. The witness followed the tracks to a wooden bridge where they were lost. The find was reported two weeks later.

They reported finding twisted trees, saplings torn down and woven over a creek, and numerous large bare footprints in snow. During a deer-hunting drive in foggy woods, the witness and his father found large bipedal tracks over their tire marks and concluded a bear could not have made them. As they circled back, an unseen animal tracked them, producing a strong foul odor and a high-pitched squeal before thrashing off toward the mother waiting at the truck. They later found uprooted small trees, additional tracks in camp, hair on fencing, and a woody debris structure, and heard screaming and a howl that prompted a relative to leave camp.

During a military alpine navigation exercise, the witness's squad stopped to rest at a stream and discovered large, deep footprints on a gravel bar and in soft soil. The writer photographed both prints, cast the left one, and collected a hair from between the toes for analysis.
