A group of about ten young campers spent Memorial weekend at a secluded forest clearing. After earlier strange sounds and a brief sighting, one camper encountered a tall bipedal figure near the camp bathroom area and alerted the group. Several campers armed themselves, moved children into a vehicle, fired warning shots, and pursued the figure toward a nearby friends camp where they reported being circled by three tall dark-furred bipeds. The following mornings the group reported handprints on vehicles, footprints, nests, and broken-tree crosses and teepee structures around both camps.

A couple sleeping in their parked SUV at a logging-road campsite were awakened around 2:30 a.m. when the wife felt a firm touch on her leg through a partially open rear window and then heard light footfalls moving away. Neither witness saw anything when listening and peeking out. In the morning they found very large muddy fingerprints on the vehicle near the window.

Late at night the witness woke on a relative's couch to barking dogs and sounds on the front porch. Looking out a lit window from a few feet away, he watched a large hairy creature squat on the porch and rummage through trash bags for an extended time without showing its face. Late at night the witness went onto an elevated deck after hearing brush noise and animal sounds. Something heavy walked up a ground-level dock and stopped directly beneath the deck. The witness saw only a large dark shape through the boards while it made loud sniffing breaths, then fled back inside.

An older woman living alone reported repeated nighttime disturbances around her yard, barn and livestock. A responding officer documented a ripped chicken coop, dents on the barn, a partial handprint, and heard shuffling in the tree line. After the case file, photos and dispatch recordings disappeared and officials told him to drop the case, he was forced to resign.

The initial report of something big was brushed off until similar local reports months later prompted detailed questioning.

While fishing from a jon boat, the witness and companion heard something crashing through the woods and saw a tall, reddish-brown hair-covered creature watching them from behind bushes. They paddled to their campsite across the river while the creature paced the opposite bank, with footsteps and breaking limbs heard. After an overnight splash and sounds of it leaving, they found hand and finger marks where it had climbed the muddy bank.

The witness and a companion drove to a picnic area in a forested area at dusk to relax after bowling. While outside the car the witness heard loud heavy strides coming up the hillside, followed by a low growl-like sound, prompting both to get in the car to leave. As they drove away something thumped against the car. Later under bright lights they found large handprints in the dust on the roof, side panel and door.

Two men running dogs without guns approached strange barking at a fence. A creature stood up, blocked their lights with a hand, then followed them through cornfields to a field edge before turning back. Next day footprints and a handprint were found in creek mud and trailing dogs refused to follow.
Rock throwing in Missouri
A small research team camped for five days on the Missouri property to document ongoing rock-throwing activity. At night rocks repeatedly struck the tent, table, chairs and vehicle from a ridge above. The team marked piles of rocks with marker and later found marked rocks thrown into camp, along with foot tracks and a handprint.

After the window incident the house was repeatedly smacked, cameras caught nothing and seemed avoided, and an access door was found open. One 5am morning the girlfriend heard window pecking then saw a big black arm pass the front-door window. Later another pair ate melons at the table, and morning light revealed scuffs, an overturned generator, missing tanks, a handprint and bitten fruit.
