The next day while hiking they found large deep human-like footprints crossing the trail at two gaps, with about five-foot stride, plus piled limbs in tree forks and overturned mushrooms nearby. They photographed the prints and noted a bloody stick but did not keep it.

Around 12:37 a.m. the witness was driving on Route 8 when a tall dark-furred creature carrying a deer ran into the roadway. The front passenger corner of the car struck the creature, which then slid down the length of the vehicle causing extensive damage from hood to rear. The witness was hunting hogs from a tree stand at sunrise when he watched a large hairy biped stalk hogs from tree to tree. The animal charged on all fours, killed a hog with blows, then carried it off while exchanging whooping calls with another unseen individual. It paused to stare at the witness before leaving. A hunting partner nearby heard the attack scream and whoops.

The witness and a companion were camping in a tent on the witness's driveway in mid-October. Around 2 a.m. under a full moon, the witness awoke to grunting and snapping trees and saw a large hair-covered figure striking and eating a deer, then dragging it uphill. The figure approached the tent, giving off a strong musky odor and knocking a frying pan from a tree before leaving. In the morning the witness found deer remains, drag marks, and a shelter-like structure of bent and broken pines.

After stopping he found no damage to the car and no airbag deployment, but extensive blood on the passenger side, yet no body, blood, hair, or raccoon at the impact site. He also describes a brief dull flash at impact and time seeming to slow.
