The writer says he was out with his wife and grandson about 45 kilometers from Sioux Lookout when they heard prolonged screams. The sounds reportedly lasted about five minutes, with about three minutes captured as audio on a video of the treeline. The host says he amplified the audio for listeners.
Scream in Missouri (2013)
In winter around November the witness camped about three-quarters of a mile from a parabolic recorder aimed west toward a structure or trail area. The witness did not hear anything at camp, but the parabolic captured long-distance screams. A very similar scream was recorded again on another fall or winter occasion.

The witness and two companions camped in the Mt Hood National Forest with a barrel of animal entrails intended as bait. Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.

On a November afternoon hunt, the witness heard loud yelling mixed with growls and screams nearby and recorded trees breaking and heavy pounding footsteps approaching. After a shotgun shot was fired toward the treeline, the figure veered closer, stopped nearby, then moved along the treeline into the woods where it remained visible for several minutes. A strong odor was noticed and large footprints were found the next day.

During a week camped with a companion, the witnesses heard many knocks and a full scream about 50 feet away just after a recorder shut off. A couple nights later they heard branches breaking approaching camp and the witness watched a soft blue ball of light move through trees and light them from close range. Only the light was visible where breaking sounds originated.

The witness and a relative were camping overnight near a lake in the mountains when loud echoing screams woke them around 2 a.m. The witness managed to record the last two of several screams using a parabolic microphone and tape recorder. The witness reports hearing loud mournful screams and wails almost nightly for three months at a home south of South Lake Tahoe, often described as paired calls that converge then stop. A former law enforcement officer told two missionaries that in 1971 he took part in an agency-directed helicopter operation to kill Sasquatch living in a canyon in the Dakotas. Two smaller helicopters drove the animals while his crew photographed a female and a youngster from the air, recorded audio, then shot the youngster in the head and shot the female point-blank in the chest from a rope ladder. The female screamed and fled up the canyon with an unknown fate, while the youngster's body was bagged, netted under a helicopter and flown out. The officer said he kept the photos and cassette hidden and had told no one else.

On a fall evening just before dusk, the witness, then a child, and the father were at their farm when the father heard a loud disturbance in a wooded valley below a field. The father took a tape recorder and walked toward the sounds of a loud growling/roaring creature apparently fighting a neighbor's dog while the child waited uphill by a feed trough. The creature was never seen because it was too dark in the woods, and the father returned uphill. The neighbor's dog was never seen again.
Former Michigan native recalls possible activity near National City
When the witness was about nine, she was walking with an older neighbor girl in the back portion of family property. Something nearby growled loudly at them, and after they walked about 200 feet into the front pasture it growled and shrieked again. The companion looked, exclaimed, then grabbed the witness and ran with her to the house. The witness never learned what the companion may have seen, and the companion never walked there with her again.

After leaving a recorder in a remote logging area with controlled access, the guest reviewed audio from the third night. At about 1:15 a.m. it captured squealing like something seized, then three loud deep barrel-chested yells, another loud squeal, then two more yells, then silence.

After playing a wedding, the witness drove into the mountains with a recorder and stood on a road when loud calls erupted below. A nearby deer began snorting in alarm and a large heat signature moved behind him on thermal. He backed against his vehicle ready to leave.

During a fall camping excursion near a major park, the team placed a recorder deep in forest to avoid human noise. It captured a one-off loud scream around 2 a.m. after rain had cleared other campers. The witness felt no person could have made it and likened it to a hominid.
