Campers hear loud vocalizations in Umatilla National Forest
The witness woke in camp about 4:00 and heard four loud sustained howls from the east side of camp, which were answered by coyotes from the west side. The witness noted a significant difference in pitch and timber between the first howls and the coyotes, after which all went quiet. Two relatives in camp also indicated they heard the sounds.
Man is followed by something all the way out of the mountains
The witness had followed elk into a canyon while archery hunting and remained out until a cloudy, pitch-black night. While hiking about an hour back toward the road, the witness heard something following, breaking sticks and closing to within 10-15 feet and stopping when the witness stopped. After waiting in a small clearing and then continuing through forest toward the road, the follower circled and came up behind again before stopping at the road. The witness never saw the source and reported no odor.
