Hikers paralelled on trail
The witness and companions were hiking a familiar trail at night when they heard heavy breathing and large strides approaching in the distance. After confirming all companions were present, they ran while the footsteps and breathing seemed to get closer, cross their trail from left to right, and follow them until they reached the end. They did not see anything and concluded the step timing and ease of movement in dense forest in low visibility indicated something very large.
Veteran hunter tells of feeling watched, panics
While deer hunting alone in a steep canyon, the witness explored a dug-out alcove containing droppings and a faint musky odor. Continuing toward a meadow, he experienced a sudden intense sensation of being watched, with raised hair and rapid heartbeat, without seeing anything. He retreated across a stream, where the fear abruptly lifted, then watched the area from the open for about an hour with no recurrence.
