Motorists slam on brakes - creature standing in middle of road
After finishing night work, the witness was driving south on Highway 95 when the car ahead braked for something standing on the centerline. After a northbound semi flashed its bright lights, the witness watched a huge, hairy two-legged figure run off the road and then dash back across the highway in front of the semi toward a canal. The other vehicles sped away, and the frightened witness drove home and locked the house.

The witness was driving down a mountain road at night after dropping off a companion when headlights illuminated a large hairy figure sitting on a log beside the road. The figure stood, leapt into the roadway, and ran across into dense cover while the witness watched. The witness stopped, turned off the vehicle, and listened briefly to heavy crashing footsteps receding into the woods before driving on and noticing a nearby campfire gathering.

Late on Thanksgiving night in 2003, the witness was driving home on Route 50 near Burlington after dropping off a friend. She braked to avoid a large black animal crossing the road on all fours. The animal reached the far side, turned to look at her with orange eye reflection in the headlights, and she fled home in distress.

The witness reports driving north into town on a highway in daylight when a very large reddish-brown furry biped with very long arms crossed about 60 feet ahead. It reportedly came from a treed slope on one side and entered trees on the other side within a few smooth steps. The witness continued driving out of fear and doubt and states continued uncertainty about what was seen.
