Man Has Face to Face Encounter Outside of Willits
The witness was driving north on Highway 101 north of Willits in daylight when a large hair-covered biped entered the roadway and ran across the lanes in front of the car. The witness braked and then stopped as the animal paused at the road edge about 25 feet away, turned its upper body and stared for about five seconds. The animal then bounded up a steep embankment on all fours and left.

Hikers Find Multiple Tracks Near Covelo
The witness with companions found unusual elongated footprints without claw marks in mud on a dirt road. They photographed several prints with a tape measure for scale, followed one set for about 20 yards, and noted three different sizes. Bear tracks seen nearby looked distinctly different.
Tracks
