A man was duck hunting with his young son in a public hunting area near Pella when they paused to watch a crane. He then saw a tall, solid-white figure on two legs run across the trail about 40 yards away, moving very fast and quietly. He searched for tracks but found none because of leaf cover, then left feeling unnerved.

On the night of October 28, 2000 the witness was hosting an adult-only backyard barbecue party with about a dozen guests. Around 10 p.m. the group heard loud unidentified sounds from the woods near the back of the property and heard heavy footsteps breaking branches that sounded bipedal. Two men entered the woods with a flashlight but the source stayed distant and was never seen, and no tracks were found in deep oak leaves.

On New Year's Day morning the witness was birdwatching off-trail in a Florida state park when they noticed a hairy arm gripping a pine with a nest box about 100 yards away. Through binoculars they watched a hair-covered creature hug the opposite side of the trunk, peeking out and shifting to stay hidden for several minutes. When the witness stepped closer, the creature dropped and fled unseen through saw palmettos, leaving a wake of moving vegetation.

Two people fishing from a dock in the evening heard a powerful roaring scream from the west along the lake. About half a minute later a fisherman came running from the direction of the sound, appearing panicked. The witness was riding a four-wheeler on an old gravel road in a rural area with a cornfield on one side and woods on the other. From a distance the witness saw a figure first thought to be a dog, then recognized as man-like as they got closer. The figure rose from a kneeling position, moved to the roadway, looked at the witness, and then went into the woods. The witness paused briefly and then turned around and rode away, afraid it might return.

While hunting, the witness saw an elk flee followed by a large dark-brownish animal running about 50 feet beyond it at roughly 300 feet distance, observed briefly through a rifle scope. The witness later found bent grass and a single partial footprint with three toes at the base of an old tree where the animal had run. Three nearby hunters said they saw nothing.

On the first night of a family camping trip in Ocala National Forest in summer 1994, the witness was awakened by a loud rattle of a bag of soda cans beside the picnic table. After she spoke, the rattling stopped and she then listened for a long period to loud, almost continuous distant screams to the north that she could not identify.
