The witness and two relatives were night fishing from a boat in a remote cove. Something in the woods threw large rocks into the water near and over the boat. They shined a light, heard fast movement in brush, and glimpsed a large dark shape going over a dune before leaving quickly.

She followed it visually for some distance and noted its rapid movement and swinging arms. The next day she returned to the same area and found very large footprints with only three toes visible and widely spaced, which she interpreted as confirming the figure was not a human.

The witness was deer hunting alone from a ground blind in a remote swamp after dark. While packing up noisily, the witness heard a heavy animal running through the woods, passing about 20 yards away. He left with a handgun ready and avoided hunting the swamp for several years.
