A bicyclist riding home late at night heard a noise by a dumpster behind a shed and saw a short stocky dark bipedal figure. The figure turned and walked into thin woods toward a cornfield, and the rider fled home to tell a companion. The companion checked the site minutes later but found only a trapped raccoon in the dumpster.

The witness was driving on a gravel mountain road in the early morning when he saw a small dark animal sitting in the road. A tall brown-haired female came from the woods, picked up the juvenile and carried it back into the trees. After the witness got out of his car a rock struck the car and a much larger dark individual appeared behind the car, vocalized loudly, then crossed the road into the woods. The witness drove a short distance ahead, stopped, heard movement in the woods and had more small rocks thrown toward him before leaving.

The witness was driving a dump truck east in daylight when a brown, hairy creature about 8 feet tall crossed the road about 100 feet ahead with a long stride. The creature came from an open field to the south and went into heavy brush to the north without looking at the witness. The witness reported getting a good look from the elevated truck cab.

The witness and a companion were driving late at night near Caroga Lake when headlights revealed a large dark upright figure crossing the road ahead. It stood still for about a minute, made a grunt sound, then turned and walked away with an unusual swaggering gait. The pair left the area in reverse, frightened by what they saw.

While hunting in a wooded area, the witness and a friend watched from a hill as their dog barked nearby. They saw a hair-covered figure where two ravines met about 100 yards below. The figure looked at them, took two steps, and disappeared back up the ravine. The witness confirmed the sighting with the friend at the time and told no one else for years.

The witness went to the bottom of a hill near a relative's home at Canton Lake to smoke. After hearing a crushing and rustling noise, the witness saw a tall black bipedal being about twenty yards away that looked at the witness and raised its arms. The witness then ran back up the hill to the relative's home.

When the witness was ten, the witness and the mother drove at night to assist a relative whose truck had broken down near a creek and woods. Headlights revealed a crouched figure behind a fence watching the relative's truck. The relative and the witness approached on foot with a makeshift light, at which point the figure stood tall on two legs and ran into nearby woods, disappearing within a few steps.
Memory of seeing something chimp-like in the trees and being chased out of the woods near Brereton
In July 1969 the witness and two younger brothers were on bikes on a bridge over a creek when they watched a 4-foot dark brown young animal play in a tree about 300 feet away for five minutes. The witness felt overwhelming terror without seeing a threat and led the brothers away. While they rode about a half mile home, a brother reported a strange hairy man chasing them, which the witness interpreted as an adult protecting its young.
