Man recalls encounters while camping with his hunting party south of Cabool
Three teens sitting around a campfire at night heard a sound behind their tents and went to investigate without lights. A tall figure stepped out from behind a tree close to them, prompting them to flee to camp, arm themselves, and enlarge the fire. For about 45 minutes they heard heavy footsteps from multiple directions and watched several figures circling and staring from just beyond the light until the adults returned and the group left for town.

The witness was sitting camouflaged on a hillside in the early morning while scouting and hunting. From across the valley he watched a large hair-covered biped feeding on the ground for about fifteen minutes, at times standing alert to listen. After an unseen uphill sound, the creature made a metallic ping call and walked away bipedally along a cleared fence line.

Two brothers scouting a deer-hunting area stopped on a mountaintop logging road in the morning and saw two upright, dark, muscular figures on a nearby mountaintop about 300-500 yards away. The witnesses then drove to a fork below, spoke briefly with a horseback rider, and later mentioned the sighting in town.

The witness was camping with family in a wooded Oregon area near a shallow river and was playing outside a camper while two relatives napped. After hearing underbrush rustle and noticing a small sapling bend, the witness moved closer and saw a large hairy hand reach from behind berry brush to grab berries from about 8 to 10 feet away. The witness ran back to camp without seeing the rest of the creature and later described the hand as clearly a hand rather than a paw.

The witness and a relative were walking home in the evening when they heard loud whooping from the mountain above them and ran home. They brought parents outside to listen, and all four heard the continuing whoops. The sounds recurred over subsequent nights, and a county trapper later searched the area but found nothing.

The witness was riding a horse on a wooded dirt road at dusk when the horse became agitated. After hearing rustling and a loud scream, the witness saw eyes and then a large upright creature that lunged out and seized the saddle. Face to face with the creature, the witness clung to the horse's neck as it bolted without looking back. The saddle was later described as torn with deep gouges.

The witness and two companions were hunting deer in fresh snow when they found very fresh large human-like barefoot tracks. They followed the tracks about 50 yards to a dirty depression where something large appeared to have been lying, then saw the tracks continue downhill. No animal was seen, and heavy snow limited visibility to a few yards.

On a clear November mid-afternoon in 1964, several children and later their mother watched a distant upright black figure standing in a harvested corn field. The children shouted at it, it appeared to turn toward them then away, and a dog chased after it out of view. The mother, frightened, brought the children inside. Decades later the witness still interprets the figure as a bigfoot.

No tracks were found with a flashlight, and the witness later concluded it was a Bigfoot.
