The witness had gone to bed in his hunting cabin late Friday night when the forest went quiet and then heard a very loud scream from the southwest answered from the southeast. The exchange repeated four times with answering wood-on-tree bangs between the second and third calls, with the nearer sounds appearing to move farther southeast before all sounds stopped and normal night sounds resumed minutes later.
