Motorist startled by large figure sitting near the highway outside Boscobel
The witness was driving slowly along a highway by the river at daybreak to go deer hunting. From the road the witness saw a very large hair-covered figure sitting on a log in the bottoms about 25 to 30 yards away, with a cone-shaped head set low between the shoulders and massive legs. The witness drove to an intersection to turn around, but the figure was gone on return, possibly having moved under a nearby high bank.

As a boy the witness heard sounds while coon hunting with a relative in the river bottoms, was told something followed them, and relatives left skinned carcasses for it.
