The witness says around 2008 while spending time in his backyard he heard tree knocks. He dismissed them as someone knocking wood in the woods and thought no more about it. The knocks continued for a while.

On a late-afternoon third visit, the researcher and property owner heard very loud wood knocks from a ridge across the valley. Neighbors fired two pistol magazines toward the sound, but the knocking continued harder, as if agitated.
