A group of five hiked an old closed ridge road around midnight under moonlight. After the leader produced knocks, responsive knocking came from timber about 50 feet away where a shadowy figure was seen, and the leader exchanged sounds with it. As the group hiked back to their cars they were flanked with glowing eyes, vocalizations and rustling.

Nighttime sighting by motorist between Barton and Carver
The witness and a roommate were driving at night when they saw eye reflection and a dark brown creature standing behind limbs by the road. The creature was visible from chest to head with arms at its sides and stood watching as they drove by. They returned in daylight and found a trail crossing toward the river but no clear tracks.
