The adult daughter heard an extremely loud, guttural scream or howl lasting 30 to 60 seconds from the backyard behind the house at about 2 a.m. through her open upstairs window. She was badly frightened, closed the window, locked the doors and returned to bed. Her mother was asleep and heard nothing. The home backs onto forest with a creek behind it.

The witness was stealth camping alone in woods near town. Late at night a powerful foul odor filled the tent, followed by bipedal footsteps circling the tent, breathing and sniffing at the tarp. After the witness shouted, the visitor growled, walked away on two feet, and wood-on-wood knocks were heard as the odor faded. The witness left the area the next morning.
