The adult daughter heard an extremely loud, guttural scream or howl lasting 30 to 60 seconds from the backyard behind the house at about 2 a.m. through her open upstairs window. She was badly frightened, closed the window, locked the doors and returned to bed. Her mother was asleep and heard nothing. The home backs onto forest with a creek behind it.

An investigator called and visited the residence, inspected the yard and road, recreated the crossing on video, measured the road, noted an arched tree, and made calls in the woods with no response.
