The witness was sitting in a deer stand above a creek in heavily wooded bottomland waiting for deer. After smelling a musky odor and hearing leaves rustling behind the stand, the witness turned and saw a large dark-brown hairy biped across the creek about 60 yards away walking parallel to the water. The creature briefly turned its head toward the witness, continued swiftly with its arms swinging, and stayed in view for 10 to 15 seconds before moving away through trees.

At dusk the witness and her young son were leading family members back along a wooded trail after fishing when a tall dark hairy figure crossed the trail just ahead of them and vanished into dense vegetation. Her son also glimpsed the figure, but relatives behind a bend saw nothing, and the group heard no further sounds and did not search for tracks.

They rode toward the sound without seeing anything, then put out the fire and left feeling watched and frightened.
