The witness was sitting in a deer stand above a creek in heavily wooded bottomland waiting for deer. After smelling a musky odor and hearing leaves rustling behind the stand, the witness turned and saw a large dark-brown hairy biped across the creek about 60 yards away walking parallel to the water. The creature briefly turned its head toward the witness, continued swiftly with its arms swinging, and stayed in view for 10 to 15 seconds before moving away through trees.

Follow-up photos from the deer stand showing the investigator standing where the creature was seen, though the images focus on nearby branches.
Recently deceased coyote with rear leg broken and twisted backwards found about 30 feet from sighting location; trappers who viewed photo questioned trap cause but investigator notes no proof linking it to the creature.
