Photographs taken of a possible trackway on property west of Alpena
The witness was walking his large wooded property after fresh snow and found a line of large, flat tracks with no toe marks that continued straight through dense brush. He photographed and measured the prints, later learning neighbors had found similar tracks. Conservation staff who viewed the photos reportedly said they did not match a recognized animal.

Fisherman recalls being startled by late night encounter on Fletcher Pond near Hillman
The witness and a companion were bass fishing from a boat on Fletcher Pond around midnight on a full-moon night. They heard a loud roar from the dark shoreline and seconds later something splashed into the water very close to the boat. Startled, they started the motor and returned to the lodge without seeing the source.
