The witness reports hearing a very loud high-pitched scream on two to three occasions in the middle of the night while awake in bed, once loud enough to wake her. On one occasion she woke her sleeping husband, who also heard the screeches. She first thought it was another animal but later wondered if it could have been a bigfoot.

Four people stopped at a turnout on Highway 17 ascending toward La Manga Pass in the morning. After one person in the party gave a whoop, they heard three loud roar-like vocalizations with pauses between them. They saw no source and left quickly, later noting the sounds resembled an Ohio howl recording and acknowledging a human trick was possible.

After waiting and trying their own knocks without response, they heard something run through the woods sounding bipedal at a sprint. While heading toward a vehicle in the morning, the witness and the friend heard a single loud guttural scream unlike anything either had heard before. The sound was heard only once and was not heard again.

The witness then saw a very large dark figure beside the road between a ditch and a field about 120 feet away in the headlights, moving upright and pausing as the vehicle passed. Six people were camping at a lakeside site late at night. After most of the group went to bed, the witness entered a tent set very close to the water. The witness and a companion heard splashing and branches moving behind the tent, then the witness saw an elbow-like shape drag down the tent wall. This was followed by loud heavy thuds of something running away from camp.

The witness stopped his grain truck on a dark rural road to prepare the trailer for unloading at a nearby farm. While outside the truck he heard loud pacing, branch-snapping and thrashing from woods on one side of the road and smelled a strong dead-animal odor from a ditch on the other side, accompanied by intense fear and a sense of being watched. He ran back to the cab and drove to the farm to unload. After unloading, he returned to the area and found the noises, odor, and fear were gone.

Two companions hiked through deep snow toward a waterfall in winter and found a trail of very large human-like footprints with a long stride. No other human tracks were present, and the trail crossed a ravine from one wild area to another. They concluded the prints were made by a large bipedal creature. No creature itself was seen.

Around 2:55 a.m. the witness was awakened by footsteps circling the tent and stopping behind his head, then realized the companion was still inside his own tent. When the witness moved to go outside, the unseen visitor crashed away through trees toward the river. Neither camper saw anything, and both reported feeling watched all night.

While deer hunting from a tree stand in the morning, the witness was approached by a companion who was pale and frightened and said something had stalked him aggressively and emitted a terrifying yell. The two investigated together and reported finding trees snapped off high above the ground and deep elongated impressions in dry ground, which they followed for two miles into dense foliage. The witness adds that he was stalked himself the next day.

The witness was deer hunting along a logging road in a mountainous area in 1999 when he noticed wide, footlike tracks in mud and a sudden strong foul odor. The smell dissipated quickly but was unlike anything he had encountered before, including bear odor. The toe details of the tracks were obscured by mud, preventing determination of claws or other features. He reported feeling unsettled and later told family and hunting companions.
