The witness recalls numerous puzzling occurrences from 30-40 years ago on a family farm of about 100 acres with orchards and woods. These included trees reportedly moved to block trails, an elaborate woven arch structure, large human-like footprints with long strides, rocks and a branch thrown near the witness, loud clicking exchanges, and nighttime disturbances around the barn and house. No creature was reportedly seen clearly, and the interpretation as possible Sasquatch activity developed over later years.

In late July 1974 the witness walked with his parents and dog south along a trail toward thick woods. As they walked they heard loud cracks, pops and snaps from the treeline that seemed to parallel their movement, smelled rotten garbage, and the dog became fearful. Near the site of a previously found stick shelter they heard a tree snap and crash nearby, then turned back while snapping sounds seemed to follow them to the clearing.

The witness was snowmobiling through a remote marshy area in February when they came upon a trail of barefoot human-like prints in deep crusted snow. They stopped to examine the trail and concluded the prints were not from a bear, snowshoes, or anything familiar. When the witness was about seven, the family found very large footprints on a Lake Superior beach. While leaving through the woods toward the car they heard loud screeching and something large jumping nearby without being seen. They left quickly in the car, with the witness feeling the source was too big to be people.
Hunter recalls a possible encounter during deer season near St. Helen
While deer hunting alone in rows of pines, the witness heard loud crashing that approached rather than retreated. After crouching to observe, the witness noticed a strong foul odor and saw a large white furry leg about twenty-five yards away. The witness remained still for about ten minutes until the sounds receded, then returned to the vehicle without mentioning the experience for years.
Possible Evening Encounter by Woman on Horseback near Union
The witness was riding a horse alone on a forested trail in the late evening while working as a camp horse instructor. When the horse became spooked and ran with its reins loose, she saw a large white-colored figure moving parallel to her among the trees. The figure was about as tall as she was on horseback and kept pace with the running horse for a short time, leaving her frightened for hours.

In summer 1944, the 9-year-old witness and his cousin were playing in a woodlot on a family farm, knocking dead saplings against live trees. They stopped and saw a huge man-like figure standing broadside nearby looking at them, which then turned and walked away. The boys ran out and told their mothers, who dismissed it as a neighbor, and the witness says they avoided that part of the woods afterward.

When she was about seven, the witness saw five hairy, unclothed figures at the edge of a lake from a hill. She fetched her parents and younger brother, and the four of them together watched the five figures swim across to oak woods on the north side of the lake. The witness and a companion were bowhunting deer from separate ground positions near a creek and swamp. The witness heard quiet rustling behind a small hill, then a large tree shook violently and a loud roar/scream sounded. The witness fled to the truck, met waiting officers, and returned with them to retrieve the companion, who had also heard the scream and seen deer flee. The group left the woods together without explanation for the sound.
Possible footprint and chatter outside Wetmore
In June 2007 the witness and a companion visited a small lake in Schoolcraft County to fish and look around. At the spot where sand met grass the companion called the witness over to a very large human-shaped footprint. The witness stepped into the print and found it fit but was much bigger.

In fall 1987 the witness was archery hunting with a relative in Michigan when wood-on-wood knocking was heard to the west. About 15 minutes later a nearby small pine shook violently from side to side with no animal visible. The witness left the area for lunch shortly afterward and noted no odor.

In early November 1989 the witness and a relative returned after dark with a lantern to track a deer shot earlier with a bow. When the blood trail stopped they heard heavy bipedal footsteps pacing, saw a very large dark outline, and heard a guttural warning sound. The witness was deer hunting alone in a swamp in late November when he heard an unfamiliar loud scream to the north followed by a loud branch breaking. He became uneasy and walked out to his car while watching behind him. Near his car he noticed a broad, roughly 8-foot-tall bipedal form standing about 35 yards away behind dense cover, which he believed had followed him. He left with a handgun ready and avoided hunting the swamp for several years.

The witness reports recurring nighttime activity over many years at her parents' wooded property. She and others hear footsteps pacing them along the tree line, loud crashing movement, screeching sounds and cracking noises, often accompanied by a strange smell. Family members and visitors have also reported red eyeshine and ape-like figures, and large footprints were found in snow. An investigator later visited, interviewed family members and noted unusual stick and vegetation features in the woods.
Former Michigan native recalls possible activity near National City
When the witness was about nine, she was walking with an older neighbor girl in the back portion of family property. Something nearby growled loudly at them, and after they walked about 200 feet into the front pasture it growled and shrieked again. The companion looked, exclaimed, then grabbed the witness and ran with her to the house. The witness never learned what the companion may have seen, and the companion never walked there with her again.
Memory told of a possible daylight sighting while driving deer on a farm east of Iron River
In the late 1960s, the witness was stationed at a fence corner during a family deer drive on fenced farm land. He reported seeing a large hairy figure step over a four-foot barbed-wire fence from the west and then over a second fence to the north. The rest of the hunting party later emerged from the woods behind it, and the witness maintained the same account into adulthood.
Possible daylight sighting by a mountain biker in the Pere Marquette State Forest
The witness was mountain biking on a game trail in thick forest when he stopped in a clear-cut opening to repair a flat front tire. A loud thump came from a burnt-out RV about 50-60 yards away, and he saw a large jet-black furred head appear in a broken window about six feet off the ground. The head tilted slowly to the side as he remounted his bike, and he rode back to his cabin using GPS. He reported smelling a pungent odor at the site and again outside his cabin the next morning, which he interpreted as the animal having followed him.
Observer hears scream changing to low "demonic" chuckle
The witness was awake alone on the living room couch late at night while younger siblings slept. A very loud, close howling scream outside the window shifted into a gurgling laugh-like sound lasting about 10 seconds and did not repeat. After waiting, the witness searched outside in fresh snow but found the snow totally undisturbed with no tracks to indicate the source.
