A couple stopped at sunset in a pullout beside a stream to eat and fish for the night. The witness heard loud crashing in brush near the truck, faint low growls from across the road, and later loud splashing from a drainage, while the companion reported finding very large, deep footprints in mud by the stream. Neither saw the source of the sounds or tracks, and they left the area feeling something large had stayed hidden nearby.
County workers find possible footprints near Bena
A county road worker grading a gravel road noticed large human-like footprints and stopped to inspect them. The trackway included 16 to 18 prints crossing from a swamp with heel-to-toe progression, long stride, and deep impressions. The witness and his father were hiking a loop trail back toward their car when the witness noticed a single barefoot-like impression in soft ash. The print showed toe outlines and an arch, felt as soft as the surrounding ash, and was larger than the witness's own foot. The surrounding ground was harder and held no other prints, and the witness jumping nearby left no impression. The witness concluded no person would be walking barefoot there and considered the print non-human.

The prints were described as 15-17 inches long, wide, with toes, and the witness stepped on one before noticing them. On a cool afternoon in February 2007, the witness and a companion hiked in the woods to look for clues about strange activity. They reported finding large human-like footprints, possible bedding areas, territorial tree markings, and a freshly fallen oak with bark that looked chewed and wet. While leaving the woods they reported being followed by something unseen that produced howls and other vocals, stick-beating sounds, continuing footsteps, and moving vegetation.

Two people were sitting around a campfire in early-morning darkness when they heard heavy footsteps approaching through the woods. A creature passed through the campsite toward the river, then ran back and into the woods behind the camp, seen only as a fire-lit silhouette. After hunting from stands, they returned and found large five-toed footprints in sand that they felt were too large to be human.

The witness was scouting a tributary creek of the Middle Fork Snoqualmie for a place to fish when he found large fresh tracks on both sides of the water. The witness compared it to his own boot, noting it was slightly longer and much deeper than a hard stomp he made. A second, smaller partial print was found farther along the trail. The witness photographed the clearer track for scale.

The witness's husband and another adult were sitting with boys camping in the woods on a moonlit night when the husband noticed a figure moving between trees, with moonlight visible between its legs. The group left the woods, and the next day the witness found footprints and poured a mold of one, plus other ground and vegetation signs. The investigator later reported the couple described a seven-foot-tall, wide-shouldered creature with a cone-shaped head and no neck.

Three companions were walking a little-used logging trail north of North Bay near dusk when they found two barefoot-like half prints at the edge of a large puddle. Two people walking a gravel beach at Lake Tahoe found a very large, deep print in the beach gravel, with other less clear prints nearby. The best print had stones on the bottom highly compressed as if by great weight and was part of a straight trackway from near the dock toward the water. The witness emphasized its depth and large size compared to a human foot and said they could not make a similar track.
