Two fishermen frightened after dark on Lake Kanawauke
The witness and a companion were in a boat heading toward shore at night when they heard splashes, smelled a foul wet-animal odor, and saw shoreline vegetation shaking violently. A large rock was thrown from shore toward them and landed near the boat. When they shone a flashlight toward shore they saw a large dark human-shaped figure with red glowing eyes partly obscured by vegetation, then yelled and banged oars before retreating to a safer distance and hearing a loud scream or roar as they loaded the boat and left.

Two companions hiking back from a mountain trail claim rocks were thrown toward them from the woods over an extended period, starting with misses above and behind them and later coming close enough to duck. The fall was heard tearing through branches and leaves.
