A family camping in a primitive riverside area heard an extremely loud, shrill scream from near their trash area about 50 yards away after paper bags flared up the campfire. The sound moved rapidly downriver for several minutes, fading to a deep growl, while the adult dogs whimpered and the family became terrified. The father packed up camp that night and drove the family home, and the family later felt the sound matched a purported Sasquatch vocalization heard on television.

During midnight rounds at an isolated school compound, the witness crossed a suspension bridge and heard something raiding trash cans by the cookhouse.
