A group filmed their campfire in upstate New York in 1997 without noticing anything unusual at the time. Years later while transferring the tape, a viewer noticed a dark figure moving in the trees in the background. The footage is described as showing a smaller ape-like figure about five feet tall climbing and swinging between trees with great agility, and follow-up review describes a second larger bipedal silhouette nearby.
Hikers find tracks and a possible nest
Two people backpacking found several large fresh bipedal footprints on a steep forest slope. One track was measured at 16 inches long, with a stride over four feet that was difficult to replicate on the slope. They followed the tracks uphill to a large volcano-shaped nest of pine needles and photographed the track and nest.

The witness and companions were camping and sitting around a campfire at night when they heard a very loud, unfamiliar scream-like sound from the woods below camp. They listened for about 25 minutes as the sound circled the camp while hearing something large moving through brush. No visual sighting was made, and the group only jokingly suggested Bigfoot at the time.

The witness was sleeping outside on the fringe of a large group camp in a remote pine forest when awakened around 1:30 a.m. by a loud, unfamiliar scream and sounds of a large animal moving through brush within about 20 yards. Too frightened to look, the witness hid in a sleeping bag. A similar scream was heard again one to two hours later farther off, and other campers also reported hearing the wails.

A loud impact-like bang was heard, followed by three or four loud yells described as non-human and unlike a house pet, seemingly coming from woods behind the apartment complex near railroad tracks. The witness and a relative were hiking near Helmets Peak at mid-day. They reported finding a large human-like footprint in very rough, rocky ground with widely spaced trees. The print was described as about the size of the relative's foot or larger.

In late summer or early fall 1997 around 10pm, the witness and the mother sat quietly on a relative's back deck watching stars in darkness. A strange vocalization lasting about five seconds came from 20 to 30 feet down the yard, then repeated seconds later from closer. The witness tried to turn on a light and searched the yard with a flashlight but saw nothing, and both went inside. No trace was found when checked the next day.

After studying the unclear single print and showing it to the friend, who noted faint toes, they continued down the creek. In late fall 1997 the witness and her husband were camping in the Mt Adams Wilderness Area when around 4 a.m. they heard a loud strange vocalization from 800 to 1000 meters away. The sound combined roaring, warbling and guttural yodeling with a high-pitched scream element and was repeated four or five times before all went quiet. Neither witness saw an animal.

The witness and the witness's son were driving north at night toward a New Year's party when they noticed a very large brown-covered figure kneeling just off the road with its back to them. They slowed as they passed, questioned what they had seen, but did not stop or turn back that night. They returned the next morning to check the spot but found nothing there.

In the morning the coolers had been ransacked, and the pair left the campground early the next night after feeling uneasy.
