In November 2004 the witness was talking on the phone in the kitchen at night when he saw a large bipedal animal run past the barn. The animal was illuminated by the yard light for two seconds or less at about fifty yards distance. He estimated its height by comparison to a six-foot barn door and described it as dark, furry, and stocky with no obvious neck. He searched the next day but found no tracks because the ground was frozen with no snow.

A family was setting up camp at a remote site in the afternoon when loud high- and low-pitched screams were heard coming from nearby woods. Three campers were around a late-night campfire when they heard repeated series of deep two-tone howls from hills to the north and south and a loud tree-impact sound. Alarmed, the group packed under guard and drove out, hearing the howls again from about a mile behind them. They later interpreted the incident as possibly involving three large communicating beings.

About an hour later the witness heard a loud boom close to the tent. In 2004 the witness and a companion were driving on a dirt road near Murdock, Kansas at night when they saw a tall grayish-white figure running parallel to the road along a fence line about 15-20 feet away. The sighting lasted about 10-12 seconds in full moonlight. When the witness turned the car around to look again, the figure was gone.
Family finds long-stride footprints in snow near house
After an overnight snowfall, the witness noticed large tracks in the snow beside the house from a window, then later found they continued across the front yard into the woods. The trackway was described as bipedal with a long stride of about five feet and no sign of pausing. He found his handgun and flashlight and shone it toward the trail, but the figures were gone. He stayed in the tent, later concluded they were Bigfoot, and left the area that morning.

The witness drove to an abandoned homestead to take sunset photographs. While walking back to the truck through knee-deep snow he heard twigs snapping and footsteps running through thick woods alongside him. He ran to the truck, heard a deep elk-like grunt, and saw pines shaking with snow falling off as he left. He returned two weeks later and found snapped-off saplings.
