The witness and a companion parked to take a daytime walk near a river bridge. After the witness struck a tree with a stick, they twice heard very loud vocalizations estimated to be about fifty yards away. After returning to the car they then heard very loud knocking sounds before driving off. The report states this was not a visual incident.

Two witnesses hunting from tree stands heard something moving noisily in brush about 50 yards away. They then watched a large hairy creature walk across an old logging trail before it ran off through the forest, possibly after smelling them. After climbing down after dark they found no footprints but noted damaged undergrowth.
