Homeowner follows possible track way heading into Lost Nations State Game Area near Hillsdale
The father-in-law found large tracks in snow while going to burn trash and called the reporter. The reporter came over, photographed and measured 17.5-inch prints with strides up to 4.5 feet, and followed them to a steep creek ravine that the maker ascended without slipping. No creature was seen, and a sample of discolored snow was collected.

Two people driving home separately at night each reported seeing a large shadowy figure by the highway slip into the woods about a half-mile from home. They compared notes after arriving home and realized both had seen the same thing, but could provide no details beyond its large size and shadowy appearance. Around 3:30 a.m. on a warm night in late summer 2011, the witness ran outside with a rifle and flashlight after hearing a chicken squawking. About 100 feet away behind the garage, the witness saw huge orange eyes staring from above a chicken coop and estimated the figure at 6 to 7 feet tall. After briefly looking down to ready the rifle, the figure was gone, and the witness heard something crashing fast through brush to the southwest with heavy breathing. A chicken was found alive but missing rear feathers with a pile of feathers nearby and no digging.

On Monday evening 5/14 around 9pm at a relative's riverbank house, the relative noticed a roughly 9- to 10-foot limb protruding from the ground that had not appeared in panoramic photos taken earlier that day. The husband arrived shortly after, felt uneasy and heard rustling in the woods across the river before turning back, and the witness later joined him to inspect the stick and search for footprints without success. The relative suggested the limb may have fallen from a tree, while the witness doubted a natural placement.

The witness and his wife were driving in their truck on a DNR access road toward a lake in fresh snow. The wife noticed a single file of large bipedal-looking tracks crossing the area near a toilet building. The husband got out, examined them in deep snow, and noted a long clean stride with no drag marks before the trail continued into pines. The pair reported seeing almost no deer sign in the area.

The witness and a companion were walking up a remote dirt road at night looking for snowboarding hills when they heard a strange sound and found large bare-foot-like prints with visible toes in the snow. After discussing the prints, which were wider and longer than a 12-inch flashlight with a very long stride, a nearby tree began shaking violently and dropping snow and branches, prompting them to run back to the car and leave.
