A visual incident and a stalking & knocking incident, in two different parts of Monroe Range
The witness and a relative were scouting elk near a mountain summit when the witness saw two dark figures about 300 yards away walking away from them. The relative did not see the figures. The two drove to the rocky ledge where the figures had been, but the figures were gone, and they noted a pair of tracks leading to the edge of a drop in old hard snow.
Possible footprints found in snow at a home near Lockesburg (w/photos)
The witness went out in the morning to feed dogs kept away from the house and noticed a large barefoot footprint in patchy melting snow. After finding only one clear print, the witness and two relatives searched the surrounding area by ATV and located a second, more melted print some distance away. The prints were measured and photographed.
Possible vocalizations heard near Pigeon Forge
The witness and her husband were relaxing on the back porch of a mountain cabin in the evening when they heard prolonged loud howling from across the mountain to the southeast. The vocalizations lasted several minutes and did not match any wildlife known to them. About 15-30 minutes later they heard large rocks crashing downhill from a closer position on their side of the mountain.
Vacationers see large, upright figure near Newfound Gap
The witness and three companions were driving north on Highway 441/71 into Tennessee toward Gatlinburg around dusk. From a distance they saw a very tall, large, hairy, ape-like figure crossing the highway from left to right on two feet, illuminated by street lights ahead. They reported a clear view from the shadow side but could see nothing at the crossing point when they drove up due to darkness.
Man recalls nighttime encounter near DeQueen
The witness drove with a companion to a turnaround at the end of a rough logging road through pine woods to talk. After getting out of the car, the witness heard loud bipedal footsteps approaching and then watched a huge human-like figure move through the trees for about ten seconds. The figure stopped about twenty yards away and looked over the treetops before the witness fled in the car. The witness returned with a relative the next day and reported the trees were nine to ten feet tall, with the head just above that level.
Possible protest attack on an elk hunter's camper (vehicle) in Fishlake National Forest
The witness and family were sleeping in a truck camper while archery elk hunting in the Fishlake National Forest. Around 1:30 a.m. something struck the side of the camper twice about 30 minutes apart with great force, rocking the vehicle, opening cabinet doors and leaving a large high dent. The witness did not go outside to look, and in the morning found no fallen limbs or rocks that could explain the impacts.
