Two companions stopped their ATV in a wooded area and heard a primate-like whooping call lasting several seconds. The witness associated the sound with a recorded call heard on a television program. They searched for tracks afterward but found none.

While driving, young woman has afternoon sighting near South Texas Project.
The witness was driving past a flooded rice field in daylight when she noticed an unusual figure, turned around, and watched a huge hair-covered biped repeatedly bending over as if searching mud or shallow water. She photographed it through her car window, honked, and saw it leave. Officers later found large humanlike tracks in the identified area leading toward adjacent woods.
