While scouting alone for deer in late afternoon, the witness heard a loud deep growl from a nearby thicket and later heard heavy movement paralleling his path through brush. He found two live trees bent over a logging road, then heard repeated knocking sounds from the direction of his entry route. While leaving through a creek bottom at dusk, he heard rocks striking and rolling downstream several times before driving out without seeing the source.
Unusual screams and thrashing sounds heard by 3 fishermen
Three companions were camping overnight for gigging and lying in a large tent trying to sleep when prolonged loud screams were heard from across a creek for about 30 minutes. They described the screams as deep-throated, lasting several seconds each, and coming from a large animal, but they stayed in the tent and saw nothing.
Hunter hears odd clicking noises while scouting
The witness hiked to a deer stand while hearing repeated groups of clicking sounds for about 45 minutes but could not locate the source on the ridge. While walking back out of the woods, the witness heard something large approach and stop behind them. The unseen source then made a very loud close grunt and, after the witness chambered a round, a loud guttural scream/grunt. The witness never saw the source.
