While scouting alone for deer in late afternoon, the witness heard a loud deep growl from a nearby thicket and later heard heavy movement paralleling his path through brush. He found two live trees bent over a logging road, then heard repeated knocking sounds from the direction of his entry route. While leaving through a creek bottom at dusk, he heard rocks striking and rolling downstream several times before driving out without seeing the source.

Measurements: 20 to 25 feet in height, 4 to 5 inches in diameter
The witness returned to the area during gun season six weeks later and reported nothing unusual.
An investigator spoke to the witness by telephone in May 2006 as follow-up.
