The witness was driving slowly at night after leaving a friend's cabin when a large hair-covered biped entered the road from the right. The witness braked to avoid hitting it and watched it take three steps across the road into the woods on the left without stopping or looking. The witness then sat stunned for a minute or more before driving on.
Late night sighting by motorist 12 miles northwest of New Haven
The witness was driving southbound at night when he saw a tall, slender silhouette standing at the roadside. The figure stepped back and disappeared into the woods, apparently having been about to cross. An investigator later met the witness on site and estimated the figure's height at over seven feet using a stand-in.

The witness watched it from about 100 yards away and estimated it was 8 to 10 feet tall by comparison to the deer.

Two people driving east on a dirt forest road heard a loud ruckus in the woods and stopped. A tall, dark-brown upright creature ran across the road about 10 feet in front of their vehicle, crossing in two steps. It continued about 40 yards into the woods and disappeared within seconds.

The witness was walking off trail with a companion when they noticed a dark figure behind a low stone wall. The figure stood up with its back to the witness and walked quickly into the woods without running. The companion did not see it but heard movement, and the pair searched for about three hours without finding it again.

The witness was riding as a passenger in a daytime car trip when she noticed a very tall hair-covered biped in a clearing beside the road. The figure was walking north and she kept watching it as the car passed until she lost sight of it. She told the driver what she had seen, but the driver had been driving and did not see the figure.
Large hairy biped seen chasing deer behind a home at dusk near Bridgewater
In the early evening the witness went outside to call the dog in and saw six or seven deer running as if chased. Behind the deer in tall grass about 100 yards from the house, a large hairy animal was running on two legs and towering above the 4-foot grass while chasing the deer. The witness, familiar with local wildlife including bears, concluded it was not a bear.

The witness and two companions stopped during a daytime drive to look from a bridge down into a dry dam area. The witness noticed a large gray creature moving quickly away from under the bridge through stones and brush, leaning forward and appearing to have no visible head. The witness was walking along railroad tracks toward a friend's house when they tripped, looked up, and saw a tall dark figure ahead. The figure looked at the witness, then quickly ran off the tracks, up a small embankment, and into the woods within seconds. The witness described it as very tall, fully covered in dark hair, and making no noise.
Daytime sighting from a farm house in the hilly area of Newton farm, outside South Kent
As a child, the witness watched from a second-floor farmhouse window as a tall, hairy biped crossed the front yard uphill, repeatedly glancing back and briefly meeting his gaze before disappearing around the house. Frightened, he ran to his parents, and a relative and a companion went outside and found oversized footprints that they followed by car across a plowed field until the tracks led uphill toward the forest and disappeared.

In 1953 three young children were picking blackberries near a railroad track when a tall hair-covered biped came down a steep hillside and walked north along the tracks, looking at them briefly. The witness recalled long arms, a long stride, a primate-like face, and a thin build with short dark hair. The children ran back to the cottage to tell parents, who dismissed the account.
