Two motorists driving westbound on the freeway at night reported a very tall, thin, hair-covered biped crossing in front of their car toward the river. They narrowly missed striking it and lost sight of it at the guardrail. They then called a relative by cell phone to report what had happened.

Both ran back to tell their parents, then returned minutes later with a flashlight but the figure was gone.

One who hid behind the trees encountered a tall hairy figure at very close range pulling back a branch, then fled screaming. After passing them and getting out to look upriver, the witness waited several minutes but the figures did not reappear around the bend, then drove home.

The witness then went outside to bring in a dog, noticed a bad odor, and later searches found no footprints.

He watched for about six seconds a dark, chimpanzee-like primate about three to four feet tall standing erect on a branch. The animal appeared to look toward him before turning and disappearing into foliage; its feet and lower legs were not visible.

While hunting in dense pines the witness repeatedly heard loud expulsions of air and branches breaking moving around him. After returning to the area with his father, deer were spooked by the same sound. The witness then saw a large black-haired figure sitting under a pine about 30 yards away and stared at it before it stood and bounded away making the same noise.

The witness parked alongside the road in Severn Run State Park at twilight and stood behind the car looking into the woods while researching an earlier report. Through fog over a stream, about 150 yards away, the witness saw a light-tan, 8- to 9-foot animal standing in undergrowth and looking toward them. The animal stayed frozen despite shouting, clapping and whistling, and after about 15 minutes the witness left without obtaining photos.

In October 2001 on a late afternoon in Woodville, Texas, the witness looked out her kitchen window while cooking and saw a large black hairy biped standing motionless in profile about 50-60 feet away beside a tall tree. She watched it for a few minutes, then looked away to collect herself and found it gone, apparently having left toward the adjoining woods. A relative searched the yard with a gun but found no sign, hearing only distant gunshots and unfamiliar men shouting in the woods.
