A family hiking uphill toward a large tree smelled a strong pungent odor and heard a repeated whoa-like sound that grew louder. The adult who stepped off the trail to watch saw a very tall, dark-haired upright figure move between trees and look toward the family. The family continued uphill without further sound or sighting and later reported the encounter to park staff.

While deer hunting on a steep timbered slope in the evening, the witness noticed movement about 70 yards away. Three women at an elk-hunt camp watched the clearcut below their campsite in the late afternoon and saw a hairy biped run from the treeline into the opening. The creature retreated when two dirt-bike riders appeared on a trail, then ran out again with a slightly smaller second creature. Both crossed the obstructed clearcut upright on two legs at great speed and disappeared into the far treeline.

The witness was riding horseback with a companion and a dog along a game trail when she noticed a dark figure foraging about 120 yards away. The figure stood upright and sprinted up a steep ridge on two legs while swinging its arms, and the dog chased it out of sight. The witness rode another trail to higher ground but could not follow through the timber, and the dog returned later tired. The companion did not see the creature.

While driving on US Highway 97 near sunset, the witness saw a very tall dark figure emerge from the treeline and cross both lanes in four strides without pausing. The figure moved briskly with swinging arms and a forward-leaning upper torso before disappearing into pines on the far side. The witness's companion was watching a hawk and did not see the figure, and the witness remained uncertain what it was.

The witness was studying at home late at night when a tethered dog and nearby livestock became highly agitated. The witness went to the front door with a pistol and flashlight and saw a large figure crouched in tall grass outside a hot-wire fence. A later search of the area found only disturbed grass and no footprints.

The witness then left up the ridge without approaching and rejoined the hunting party at the vehicles.

A large black figure came into view about 75 feet away and faced the witness for about a minute while swaying side to side. Both stayed through the night without further sightings and photographed the tracks at daybreak.
