Four people parked in a car by a small pond at night heard a loud growl from across the water. When headlights were turned on they saw a large dark hairy figure with a cone-shaped head and green eyes that moved its head and made grunting sounds. After difficulty starting the car, they heard a loud prolonged roar and saw the figure still there as they drove away.

Morning sighting by hunter in Homochitto National Forest near Knoxville
The witness was deer hunting in the morning and waiting against a tree when a nearby deer spooked. He then heard heavy breathing and saw a tall hair-covered upright creature standing a few feet behind him. He fled leaving his gun, then returned with two companions to find large three-toed tracks leading to a creek.
