After hearing a grunt, the witness saw a tall dark bipedal figure stand up near a hay feeder and then walk away toward the woods and over a fence. The witness heard crunching footsteps and fence noise for several seconds, then later found no tracks after the frost melted.

The figure paused by a fence to look toward the witness, then lifted a smaller hair-covered figure from the weeds onto its hip. It then stepped over a barbed-wire fence and walked unhurried into the woods.

The witness was driving on a dirt road near Prescott at dusk when a large ape-like animal appeared moving parallel to the road just inside the tree line. The witness braked to a stop and watched it walk through a gap in the trees about 100 meters away for about 10 seconds before it disappeared into the forest. The animal was described as tall, very muscular and reddish-brown with longer arm hair and little or no neck, and it never looked toward the car.
