The witness was driving at night on a road through a swamp area when headlights revealed a large hairy biped standing in the road. As the witness braked and approached, the figure appeared on the roadside about 10 feet from its original position without being seen to move, then vanished toward the swamp. The witness stopped within about 20 feet and described the figure as about 7-8 feet tall with dark hair tipped with silver-grey and a deep chest.

While riding a tour boat that was dropping off firefighters, the witness saw a large dark figure walking on the shore near a creek mouth. The witness's wife also saw the figure and described it as orangutan-like but more upright. After turning around and losing sight of it, they saw a tall, dark reddish-brown shaggy upright figure cross the road ahead of them in two steps. The figure moved quickly, did not look at the cars, and disappeared into roadside bushes, after which the witnesses left the area.

On the afternoon of August 11, 2007, the witness was resting near the Pacific Crest Trail in the southern high Sierras when he noticed two upright, dark-furred figures about 200 yards away near a deep canyon. Late at night the witness was driving with a companion toward a fishing and camping area when furry upright beings appeared in the roadway in front of the vehicle. The witness saw two beings while the companion reported a third walking ahead, and the beings looked at the vehicle before diving headfirst into roadside brush. The sighting lasted only seconds, after which the witnesses decided not to camp.

The witness stopped at a trail entrance and watched a tall dark manlike creature scrape bark with its palms and pound a tree trunk with a fist. The creature paused and turned to look at the witness.
