Looking back toward an upper trailhead, the witness saw a tall, bulky black figure walking from right to left and quickly out of sight. The witness then moved forward to the spot with the relatives and later compared the figure's size to a relative, estimating it much taller and wider.

A witness walking alone to a river bridge in the evening stopped after spotting a hair-covered figure squatting at the river edge about 30 feet away. The figure kept its back turned for several minutes while breaking open and eating mussels or clams, striking some on rocks. The witness was traveling along a road around 11 a.m. in clear, cool conditions and reported seeing a tall, thin, hair-covered figure standing off to the side of nearby railroad tracks. The witness described the figure as very tall but reported no facial details. An investigator later met the witness and visited the location, recording estimates of about seven feet tall, slender build, black hair, about 200 pounds, and about 250 feet observation distance.

Late at night in February 2011 the witness was driving on Highway 95 between Potlatch and Tensed when a very large dark bipedal form crossed the road in front of the car. The witness stopped in the empty highway but the figure vanished from the lit pasture and ditch without being seen again. From about 50 yards away in bright headlights, the witness watched a large humanoid run across an open field to the east. Two people driving north at night reported a tall, black, human-like figure standing in the road. As their vehicle approached, the figure crossed from the east side to the west side very quickly, described as moving like a gorilla. The witnesses estimated its height at 7-8 feet and did not see its face.

A tow truck driver was loading a car that had struck an elk late at night when he heard a deep grunt. He shone a light and saw an upright creature dragging the dead elk one-handed by the antlers through deep snow into a drainage. The creature looked at him, continued dragging the elk about 100 feet, and disappeared from view after about 15 seconds.

The witness was driving eastbound on the interstate in late morning when a large dark figure stepped out from trees beside the highway, looked toward traffic, then returned to the woods. The witness passed within about 30 feet but had only a brief view at highway speed and noted long arms, straight shaggy hair, and a slight hunch, with the face obscured by an arm. A companion in the car did not see the figure.

After hearing coyotes, he got back in the truck and then saw a tall hair-covered human-like figure emerge from the woods beside the truck. The figure paused facing the truck, then walked around it and left down the point out of sight. The witness stayed in the truck until daylight, then found skid marks where it descended but no footprints.

The witness later found hair on a broken limb and thumb-like marks and scratches on bark where the figure had been.

The figure reportedly shielded its eyes from the headlights, made eye contact and snarled to show large teeth, then left into a thicket after about a minute. The witness also reported a musk-like odor and missing fingers on one of the figure's hands.

A bicyclist riding home late at night heard a noise by a dumpster behind a shed and saw a short stocky dark bipedal figure. The figure turned and walked into thin woods toward a cornfield, and the rider fled home to tell a companion. The companion checked the site minutes later but found only a trapped raccoon in the dumpster.
