The driver and a relative passenger were driving on a rural road in the early morning after fishing. After slowing for a deer, they saw upright figures cross the road ahead from the center to the woods on the right. The driver perceived one dark silhouette showing head, torso and legs, while the passenger reported two figures with the second shorter and slightly stooped and with visible arm movement. They drove slowly past the entry point but saw nothing further and noted only normal night woods odor.

In moonlight they saw a large shape kneeling on the lawn that stood and ran across the lawn, through a puddle, and up a driveway. One who hid behind the trees encountered a tall hairy figure at very close range pulling back a branch, then fled screaming. Another teen then watched the tall muscular figure emerge from the trees, cross the road, and walk up a hillside while turning its upper body to glance back.

The witness then went outside to bring in a dog, noticed a bad odor, and later searches found no footprints.

The couple was outside their house late at night calling for their pet cat when loud hoot-like calls started nearby and multiplied into many very loud varied screams and laughing-like sounds that built to a crescendo then stopped abruptly. After a period of silence with rustling and a loud snap, they got into their car to leave. While driving away they saw a large dark upright figure with glowing yellowish-orange eyes near the road and noticed a strong musk odor.

He heard a loud shrill scream lasting several seconds and then saw a large man-like figure running through a park toward the woods. He ran back inside immediately and later felt the scream matched recordings he found online.

At sunset the witness and a companion were hiking along a creek when they heard singing coming from a culvert. They approached and looked through the culvert and saw the silhouettes of two ape-like creatures with glowing eyes crouched at the far end, swaying and humming. The witnesses left quickly so as not to disturb them.

On the night of August 30 the witness was camping when his dog wandered from the campsite making strange noises and a figure taller than the witness with a visible silhouette and eyes kept moving toward him, reportedly walking upright. The frightened witness fled to a nearby convenience store and called 911 at 10:54 pm. No formal police report was filed because the witness would not return to the campsite with an officer.

Two companions parked a motorcycle on a dirt road late at night and walked toward a nearby residence when they heard loud heavy footsteps and brush crashing approaching from a swampy area. They ran back to the motorcycle and fled as the sounds and heavy breathing closed in. As they drove away, one rider looked back and saw a very large, wide, dark hairy figure leap onto the road, land on all fours, then stand erect and grunt. The figure was silhouetted in bright moonlight, preventing detail of face or hands, and was estimated at about seven feet tall.

The witness had been retrieving items from a storage shed with friends and stayed behind to latch the door, then hurried to catch up. Hearing rustling leaves, he stopped and saw a large dark hairy figure about 15 feet away on the other side of a chain-link fence. He watched for about 30-45 seconds, hearing heavy breathing and an intermittent deep growl, then slowly walked away out of fear.

The witness was crouched in bushes beside a road near a baseball field while playing a nighttime search game at a mountain camp. A very tall, muscular, hair-covered figure emerged from bushes near third base, paused and crouched as children walked past on the road, then crossed the field in seconds and entered the woods. The witness watched in moonlight from near first base and afterward returned to the cafeteria.

In the headlights the witness saw a tall, thin dark figure cross the road and enter roadside woods, moving in an unfamiliar gliding manner that first caused fear. The witness then noticed a dark crouched mass at the tree line first taken for a bear. After getting into the car and slamming the door, the witness saw the figure stand about 7-8 feet tall and run away over a rock mound, then drove away.

The witness was sleeping alone on a rock ledge above a drainage when she heard loud repetitive whooping and howling from far below. The source moved rapidly uphill, climbed a steep cliff to the ledge, and ran past her toward the peak above, pausing briefly to look toward her. It then vocalized from the top of the peak until near sunrise, and she left the area at first light.

The witness was backpacking alone and set up camp above a ravine in the evening. After hearing rustling below, the witness used a flashlight and saw a tall dark-haired bipedal figure hiding behind trees about 40 feet away. The figure moved to another tree while being watched for 2-3 minutes, then ran down the creek out of sight. The witness remained by the fire until daylight and found no prints in the morning.
