As an eight-year-old at a two-week summer camp, the witness was lying awake in an open cabin at night after the head count. He heard footsteps circle the cabin and then saw a very tall, dark-haired, gorilla-like figure fill the open doorway and stare in for several minutes. The figure then left toward the mess area, after which the witness heard garbage cans being overturned.

He gained favor with the younger ones using snuff and handmade utensils, then incapacitated the adult male with a large dose of snuff and escaped during the resulting commotion, hiking south to a logging camp for help.

A very large presence came up the steep bank and stood close enough for its breath to be felt, accompanied by a foul odor. The reporter ran to wake a sleeping companion while the other two put out the fire. Those two companions reported seeing a large hairy man-like figure about 20 feet away, about 7-8 feet tall with red eyes, which then ran off hunched over.

After hearing trash being disturbed, the witness stepped out barefoot with a flashlight and saw a small upright furry creature looking into a hanging trash bag. The creature turned, made a squeal-grunt cry, and dashed away while the witness ran shouting to wake relatives. No tracks were found afterward because the area was trampled.

Around 2 a.m. under a full moon, the witness awoke to grunting and snapping trees and saw a large hair-covered figure striking and eating a deer, then dragging it uphill. The figure approached the tent, giving off a strong musky odor and knocking a frying pan from a tree before leaving. In the morning the witness found deer remains, drag marks, and a shelter-like structure of bent and broken pines.

Two large hair-covered creatures waded across a creek into the camp, growling and grunting while going through items left out.
